CREATING A WEB SITE such as one for a Lions District is a rather involved project. A staff with compatible writing styles, compatible software, compatible computers, comfortable communications, accessable server, accurate information, and the time to get together are some of the hurdles that had to be overcome.
CHOOSING A STYLE AND FORMAT which is sophisticated enough to be pleasing to view and still simple enough to be viewed by Lions who do not buy new computers every 2 or 3 years, is a delicate balancing act that had to be considered carefully.
SELECTING FONTS AND GRAPHICS which are of an adequate quality to be effective without draining the resources of older computers had to be and was considered. After the pages are up and running and we get some feedback; we will begin to add photos and other memory eating features. For now information is our first priority.
BALANCING TEXT AND GRAPHICS to create informative pages which people will be inclined to return to was considered. They say that "a picture is worth a thousand words", in computer memory, many take up as much space as ten thousand words. (Lions Clubs International offers a "text only" version of their Web Page for people whos computers would take several minutes {if at all} to load pages with graphics). We assumed that most of the people who would be interested in viewing our pages would be able to view moderate graphics.
WE APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK and we can always use editors. Contact any of the web page staff below.
