August 30th.                  Dist 33S 1st Cabinet Advisory Meeting.  WACKY  WILD TIES & SCARVES EVENING.  Holy Ghost Hall, 545 Middleboro Ave, E Taunton MA.  6:30pm Fellowship, 7:pm Meeting.  Baked stuffed chicken will be served.  Cost is $10.00 per person.  RSVP Deadline is August 23rd.  Make checks payable to District 33-S and mail to CST Patricia Salvas, 11 Simpson Ave., So Attleboro MA 02703.  Pat can also be reached at H #508-761-4067 or Day #508-761-9433.

 

September 1st.              Berkley Lions Club will begin to sell  DECEMBER CALENDAR RAFFLE tickets for the month of December.  Cost is $5.00 per calendar with a chance of winning 31 times.  1-$500 winner on Christmas, 4- $100, and 26- $50 winners.  Proceeds to benefit Lions Eye Research and Berkley’s Lion Charities.

 

September 12th.            The So Attleboro Lions Club will hold it’s 10th annual Antique Auto show  from 10 AM to 5 PM at Haywood Field in Attleboro.  Last year over 300 antique and classic cars competed for trophies in many categories.  Directions:  Exit 5 off of I-95.  Right at end of exit and left at 2nd light and follow for one half mile.   So Attleboro Village Lions Club   will be selling meatball sandwiches and candy apples at the men’s car show above.  Yummy!

 

September 12th.            W Bridgewater Lions Club   PARK DAY     Music, entertainment, magician,, crafts, exhibitions and food.  (Lions Club Food Wagon)  Free - Town Park, River St off Central Square.  Directions:  Intersection of Rte 28 and 106.  Shuttle buses from Town Hall parking lot.  Contact Bob Kellie 508-583-7865 for more info.

September 18th.            Plymouth Lions Club will be holding a Golf Tournament at 12 noon at the Squirrel Run Gold Course off Rte 44 Plymouth.  Cost is $75.00 per player.  There will be a gold food raffle.  Deadline to register is Sept 16th.  Contact David Gallerani 508-746-0330 or 617-688-2715.  You may also e mail ranesco@ yahoo.com  Directions Rte 3 to exit 6.  Follow west on 44.

 

September 19th.            Bourne Lions Club  is having a CRUSE ALONG THE CANAL.  Your $25 ticket includes food and entertainment.  There will be a cash bar on board.  Boarding begins at 5 PM from Onset Pier.  For tickets contact Lion Tammy Staiger at 508-759-4546 or Lion R.J.  Duffy at 508-759-7872.

 

September 19th.            Berkley Lions Club    ANNUAL BERKLEY LIONS/LEGION CLAM BAKE 2004.  Held at the Berkley American Legion Post #121, 80 Myricks St, Berkley MA.  Chowder at 1 PM Bake at 2 PM.  Cost #22.00 per person.  Advanced ticket sales only.  All proceeds from the raffle and bake will benefit the designated charities of both the Lions and the Legion.  .  For tickets contact Clint Bjornson 508-824-8828, Barb Otto 508-822-3833 or any Lion Legion member. 

 

September 25 and 26th.            E Bridgewater Lions Club will be holding a light bulb sale going door to door in the town selling light bulbs and batteries to raise money for MLERF.

We are also planning on holding either a pool party or cookout as a way to introduce prospective members to the members in our Club.

 

September 30th.            District 33-    ANNUAL CARNATIONS DAY to benefit eye research. Cost is $5.00 per bunch and money must accompany your order.   Deadline for ordering is October 7th – delivery date is October 16th.  Make all checks payable to District 33S and mail to Chairperson, Melissa Brown, 44 Johnson St., Taunton, MA 02780.  For more info contact Melissa at 508-824-2447.

                                    Upcoming Fundraisers-October 2004

 

October 2nd..    District 33s   presents the annual family fun day and walk a thon.   Cape Cod Canal to benefit Massachusetts Lions Eye Research.

Free food and drinks with all donations 9 AM to 2 PM.  Face painting, Shriners  clowns,

Walk A Long 50/50 Raffle, car cruise wheels of time, kite flying, kids games, busy bee jumper.  Need a pledge sheet contact Chairman Gary Saccocia 508-378-7173 for more info.  This is really a crowd pleaser event.

 

October 2nd.     Berkley Lions Club will be holding their Annual Octoberfest on the Town Common from 9AM to 3 PM.  Old fashion fun for everyone.  Petting zoo, kids games, moonwalk, road race, flag ceremony, Fire Dept demonstration of the jaws of life and a couch burning, free hay rides, Stage Door Dance Studio demo, Karate demo,  business booths and crafters, and of course two 50/50 raffles.  Admission –A non perishable food item to be donated to the council on aging for their food pantry.

 

October 16th.   Bourne Lions Club  is having A MURDER MYSTERY DINNER THEATRE..  From the producers of   “Joey and Maria’s Comedy Wedding” comes the newest adventure of the Gnocchis and the Cavatellis!  Grab your hula shirts and coconuts!  Dance, sing, laugh and eat with that wacky family you know and love for a night of murder, mayhem, and meatballs.  Hawaiian style!  Your $50 ticket includes dinner, taxes and gratuity.  There will be a cash bar available.  6:30 PM cocktails and 7 PM start to the show.  This event will be at the Elks Lodge in E Wareham.  For tickets contact Lion Judy Plummer at 508-759-4821 or jplumme@entergy.com or Lion Rick Duffy at 508-759-7872 or dickruffy@aol.com.  Tickets must be purchased before October  9th.
