Monthly Message from your District Governor
Hello
Everyone:
With so many milestones coming up this year, I
would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Easton Lions Club on
celebrating their 75th anniversary on October 6. Way to go
Well, after months of planning, PDG/CST Don
Hebert and I have begun our visitations. Our messages have been
simple. Our first goal, of course, is eye research, but we have set no
monetary goals and we are encouraging our clubs to do the same. Please
operate within your abilities and don't set any goals you cannot achieve.
Your best is all we ask.
As I mentioned several times, we are encouraging
our clubs to go back into their communities, not only to help those who have
made our achievements possible, but also to re-introduce ourselves to our
accomplishments and let our benefactors know where their donations are going
and who they serve.
But one of our major goals is to emphasize to
everyone that we are not making our visitations in a "preaching"
mode. We are not telling our clubs what we expect from them, but
rather, we are asking our clubs to air their concerns and tell us how the
district can better them. So when you know our visitation to your club is
coming up, please jot down your thoughts, and share them when we visit you.
Our zone and region chairpersons, headed by
region chairperson at large Ed Olney, have already been meeting together and
sharing their thoughts and ideas so that they can better serve all of
you. Please feel free to contact them for assistance and guidance in your
respective requests and questions.
I'm looking forward to serving as your District
Governor but I am also looking forward to visiting with all of you. Best
of luck on what I know will be a great year.
Yours in Lionism
Happy Halloween!

MID-WINTER AD BOOK
Dear Lions and Leos
Isn’t this exciting, looking forward to another great Lionistic year with the help and guidance of DG Skip. New fundraisers and visitations with other clubs are all part of the fun throughout our great District 33-S.
We are fortunate living in the best country in the world and being part of the largest service organization in the world. Just think about that for a moment. We all truly blessed. But yet, although we raise a lot of money for those less fortunate, our Club’s own pocket books are a little tight at times; that is, the Administrative Accounts. We can help one another and fatten your administrative accounts a little. Simple put, we need ads, and you need money. You help us get ads for the Mid-Winter Ad Book and we will return money on each outside ad to the sponsoring Club. This is how it will work: for each ad that comes from a Club, whether it be from a member or an outside business, the sponsoring club will receive credit for each ad taken.
Just make believe that the Administration Account is one of those less fortunate people. I know you can help make this work and give Governor Skip a big boost also. Your help and dedication to this worthwhile project will be greatly appreciated.
Yours in Lionism,
Lions Art Westgate and Lion Barbara Otto
C0-Chairperson, Mid-Winter Ad Book
This letter along with the order form has been sent to each President and Secretary in District 33S. Get your ads to us as soon as possible so that the ad book can be completed and printed in plenty of time for the Mid-Winter. Thank you
