Sunday, The Raynham King Philip Lions Club will be cooking
up a great BREAKFAST from 8 AM TO 11 AM at the King Philip Hall, King Philip Street, in Raynham
September 26th The Somerset Lions Club will be having their first CABLE TV AUCTION from 5 PM to 10:30 PM on Cable Station 15 in our area. They have over 180 Auction items up for bids. They vary from gift certificates to numerous restaurants to a weekend in Waterville or a week in the Berkshires. Other items are family portraits just in time for Christmas gifts and something very different: Dental Exams and Chiropractic Visits and more. Tune in and call in.

October 1st. District 33S Lions Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 30th . Lions from District 33S will be taking a ROAD TRIP TO VISIT THE MASS EYE AND EAR RESEARCH CENTER in Boston. Mass Eye and Ear is a recipient of funds from our Mass Lions Eye Research Fund (MLERFI) and we will be getting an update on the valuable biomedical research being done with our contributions. If you wonder why we’re saving all those pennies, come along and see what that effort is paying for!
We will be taking a bus from the Park & Ride at Rtes. 106 and 24 (near the Charlie Horse) at 6:00PM sharp, and returning at about 10 PM. There will be a diabetic-conscious box lunch and drinks provided and the estimated cost is $20.00. Any excess funds are contributed to MLERFI. More info will be provided as November 30th approaches, or you may call R C Carl Johannesen at 508-238-7539 to make reservations. *The bus only holds 42 people, so don’t wait too long!. Reserve your seat now.
October 2nd.. District 33s presents the annual family fun day and walk –a-thon. Cape Cod Canal to Benefit Massachusetts Lions Eye Research. Free Food and drinks with all donations 9 AM to 2 PM. Face painting, Shriners Clowns,
Walk A Long 50/50 Raffle, Car Cruise Wheels of Time, Kite Flying, Kids Games, Busy Bee Jumper. Have you filled your pledge sheet, need a pledge sheet, contact Chairman Gary Saccocia 508-378-7173 for more info. This is really a crowd pleaser event.
*Special Request. Chairman Gary Saccocia would like to remind everyone attending that gifts are very much needed for the raffle. He said that a cruise or a trip to Hawaii would be nice but anything that can be given as a prize will do.
October 2nd. Berkley Lions Club will be holding their Annual Octoberfest on the Town Common. Old fashion fun for everyone from 9AM to 3 PM. Petting Zoo, Kids Games, Moonwalk, Flag Ceremony, Fire Dept Demonstration of the Jaws of Life and a Couch Burning, Police Dept will Fingerprint and Photograph the Children for Free. Also, Free Hay Rides, Stage Door Dance Studio Demo, Karate Demo, Business Booths and Crafters, Agriculture Contest and of course Two 50/50 Raffles.. Admission –A non perishable food item to be donated to the Council on Aging for their food pantry. Crafters and small business’s tables still available. October 3rd.
Middleboro
Lions Club kicks of the season with the first of it’s MONTHLY
BREAKFASTS at the Middleboro Housing Office-Benton Street, Middleboro from 7AM to 11PM. Follow Rte 105 towards Middleboro center, take a right at the first set of
lights, (Wareham St) the second street is Benton. Middleboro Housing is on the
left side. There will be signs designating the Lions Breakfast.
October 3rd. West Bridgewater Lions Club will be holding their 21st ANNUAL COUNTRY CRAFT FAIR from 10 AM to 4 PM. Fundraiser to be held in doors, all hand made crafts, including a Chinese Auction and refreshments. West Bridgewater Jr./Sr. High School located on Route 106. Directions: Take routes 24, 18, or 28 to Route 106. High School is beside the Police Station. Cost per ticket is .50 cents. October 22nd & 23rd. Dighton Lions Club Annual HAUNTED HAYRIDE Held at the Araujo Farms on Williams St., Dighton. Hours will be 6 PM to 10 PM. Cost is $8.00 per person. Directions: Williams Street is off Route 44 by the American Auto Auction (formally the Taunton Expo) About 3.5 miles down Williams Street.
October 9th. The So Attleboro Lions Club are having a MEAT RAFFLE that will run each Saturday at 2 PM at the So Attleboro American Legion Hall. Contact Lion Don Leedham at Liondon64@comcast.net. American Legion is on Rte 123 in So. Attleboro. Off Rte 95 (North or South) take the Rte 123 exit in Attleboro towards “S Attleboro”. Legion Hall is approximately 1 mile on the right. Off Rte 495, connect to Rte 123 and follow into Attleboro. Pass through the center of Attleboro and continue on Rte 123. Go under the Rte 95 overpass. Legion Hall is approximately 1 mile on the right.
October 9th. E Bridgewater Lions Club YARD SALE to be held in the parking lot of the Pier 18 Restaurant which is located on Route 18 in E Bridgewater. The hours are from 8 to 4 PM.

October 16th. Fall River Carousel Lions Club will hold a WHITE CANE DAY at the Fall River South End Stop & Shop located across from the Harbor Mall and behind Shaw’s Supermarket. Additionally throughout September and October, members will be selling CANDY BARS.
October 16th. Bourne Lions Club is having A MURDER MYSTERY DINNER THEATRE.. From the producers of “Joey and Maria’s Comedy Wedding” comes the newest adventure of the Gnocchis and the Cavatellis! So Funny, Murder in Maui, It‘ll kill ya! Grab your hula shirts and coconuts! Dance, sing, laugh and eat with that wacky family you know and love for a night of murder, mayhem, and meatballs. Hawaiian style! Your $50 ticket includes dinner, taxes and gratuity. There will be a cash bar available. 6:30 PM cocktails and 7 PM start to the show with dinner and dancing.. October 16th. So Attleboro Lions Club hosting its FIRST ANNUAL 18 HOLE GOLF TOURNAMENT. All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit So Attleboro Lions general charity fund. The tournament will be held at the Hillside Country Club, Rehoboth, MA. $90.00 per player. The day will begin with registration and a hot dog lunch at 11AM. A shotgun tee-off is scheduled for 12 noon. Play will be a scrambled format. The day will end with a cocktail hour and dinner (guests are encouraged) at the Hillside Country Club. October 16th. W Bridgewater Lions Club Will be holding a YARD SALE from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Town Hall Parking Lot, Route 28, next to St Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater. October 16th. So Attleboro Village Lions Club are holding their ANNUAL CHOPSTIK AUCTION at the K of C Hall, Highland Ave. (Rte 123) So Attleboro. Doors open at 6:30 PM and Auctions starts at 7:00PM. Admission is $3.00 and there will also be a “Play All Night” option available. Free coffee and refreshments will be provided during intermission. There will also be door prizes and raffles. Berkley Lions Club will
be resuming its MONTHLY BREAKFAST located at the Old Town Hall, on the Berkley Common from 7 AM to 11:30 AM. All breakfasts are cooked to order by
our great kitchen crew. We are a lively bunch of volunteer workers who really
have a good time as other club attendee’s will attest to. See you there
October 22nd. The E Bridgewater Lions Club are having a HUNGRY PERSON’S DINNER. Tickets are $100.00 and includes 2 prime rib dinners and entry into a cash drawing. Prizes are $2500 for first place, $750 for second and $500 for third. This will be held at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club located on Neilsen Ave. For more info contact John Lovell@bcbsma.com
October 23rd. Fall River Carousel Lions Club will be conducting a CAKE SALE FUNDRAISER at the new Super Stop & Shop on Rte 6 in Somerset.
October 24th. Rochester Lions Club The ROCHESTER LIONS HALLOWEEN PARADE for the children of Rochester and surrounding area. A 3 PM touch off at the Rochester Grange, Hartley Rd., Rochester. There will be candy and prizes for all and judging of many categories with fun guaranteed for all. For more info call Heather or Ed Brown 508-295-6255.

October 30th and 31st. W Bridgewater Lions Club presents the ANNUAL HOCKOMOCK ASSOCIATION 32ND FALL ANTIQUE SHOW AND SALE.
11 AM to 4 PM at the W Bridgewater High School. Cost is $3.50 with complimentary ticket from any Lion on premise. Antique Show and Sale; food concessions to Benefit Lions Charities. October 31st. E Bridgewater Lions Club is having a “SIGHT NIGHT”. Sight Night is a chance to involve or partner with a youth group such as the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and hopefully Brownies and Girl Scouts. While the Trick or Treats are collecting their goodies on Halloween they can also collect eyeglasses. This is a partnership with Lens Crafters. There are special door knocker announcements that we will be distributing in East Bridgewater ahead of the Sight Night and there are special Sight Night collection bags. Our Club is really excited about this type of project not only from a community service/relation standpoint but also a public relations standpoint. Wow Great idea!
October 31st. Berkley Lions Club will selling a DECEMBER CALENDAR RAFFLE ticket for the month of December. Cost is $5.00 per calendar with a chance of winning 31 times. (1) $500 winner on Christmas, (4) $100, and (26)- $50 winners. All proceeds to Benefit Lions Eye Research and Berkley’s Lion Charities.
Upcoming EVENTS
January 14, 15, 16, 2005, the MID-WINTER CONFERENCE. All applications will be treated on a first come, first serve basis. Preference will be given to those staying Friday and Saturday nights. Deadline is December 10, 2004. Cancellations will not be accepted after this date. All applications MUST include a check for the full amount.
