Monthly Message from your District Governor

Hello to all Lions and Leo’s in District 33S

The days are going by very fast and soon our lionistic year will be over.  Spring is coming closer, and the end of our year as well.  Why not sign up to volunteer at the International Convention and end it with a bang.  After all how many times will we have a chance to have an International Convention in Boston?  How many lions in our district have ever been to an International Convention, and when will you have another chance?  I would like to give you an update on the eyeglasses.  We in District S have already collected 18000 pairs of glasses, we are working to clean them, read them, and then they can be packed in boxes and shipped to Sri-Lanka.

Thank you for all of your efforts and thank you for all of your help on this project.  Do not forget the State Convention in Sturbridge this year, May 5th 6th and the 7th.  The All State Band will be playing on Friday night and is always is a great take.  Of course there will be more information about the International Convention as well.

NOT ABOVE YOU, NOT BENEATH YOU, BUT WITH YOU!

District Governor George Hart.

DISTRICT 33S - OPERATION SHOEBOX AND BEYOND

A Touch of Home for our Troops

“Until the last one comes home!”

This project has been very gratifying by the fact that citizens, regardless of their personal opinion regarding our being in the Middle East support the troops and appreciate the sacrifice they are making on our behalf.  Lions from District 33S in Massachusetts have pledged to continue supporting our troops so that they will know that we care about their efforts and will continue this project until the last one comes home!

Please go to http://Lions-33s.org/shoebox.html  to view pictures of the items collected   and be sure to read the article with the acknowledgement from our troops over seas.

DISTRICT 33S

LICENSE PLATE INFORMATION

As your District 33S Representative for the proposed Lions License Plate, I am asking for your support.  The idea of a state Lions plate was introduced about ten (10) months ago.  As of now, we have approximately 10% of the necessary first 1500 applicants.  The registry of Motor Vehicles requires a minimum of 1500 applicants to imitate this project and another 1500 at the completion of the issue year.

Many hours and days were put into getting this project started, and we, the Lions, need more recognition and this would be a very visible reminder for everyone.  We are asking for your support.  You can purchase a Lion plate for as little as $40.00.  Please contact me with any questions or to receive an application.  This can only happen with everyone’s help.  And remember, you don’t have to be a Lion to have a Lion plate on your vehicle!!!  Call me.
