THE LAST LION COMIC STANDING     

 

WHERE ARE YOU, HURRY AND REGISTER, SHOW YOUR COURAGE LIONS

We need to start selling tickets now but I don’t know if we have a show.  There is not much time left before the scheduled March 5th date.  So come on, it will be a lot of fun I promise.  This could start a new career for you, A STAR IS BORN, and you   never know if we have planted a special talent scout in the audience. 

 

March 5th Taunton Lions Club  

 

The event will be held Saturday, March 5th at the Holy Ghost Hall in Taunton. There will be a social hour from 7 to 8 PM.  The show will run promptly from 8 PM to Midnight.  Seating is on a first come first serve basis and the ticket price is $10 per person.  Please remember that this is an Adult Only Evening.  So mark you calendars, support your clubs comic and plan to come to what will b the funniest night in 2005.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the final 3 comics by our celebrity judges.  Please contact Lion Sue for advanced tickets at suecoupe@yahoo.com or call 508-958-8839.

March  5th 12th 19th and 26th.   S Attleboro Lions Club

 

A great MEAT RAFFLE held on each Saturday of the month at the American Legion Hall on Rt. 123 in South Attleboro from 2:30 to 4 PM.   The hall is located just 1 mile on the right from the Rt. 95/Rt. 123 junction towards South Attleboro.  Wide variety of quality meats, raffles, 50/50, gift certificates and prizes.  Contact Lion PDG Don Leedham at LionDon65@comcast.net or Lion Mike Hunchard at HUXB29@aol.com

March 5th  Plymouth Lions Club

 

The Plymouth Lions will be again SELLING ADS ON WATD 95.9FM known as the RADIO SHOW. The Ads are 5 for $100.00 and 10 for $200.00 for a 10 to 30 second spot.  WATD will assist you in developing the ads. They are read as ROS (run of the station).  Deadline for ads is March 5th.  You pick the day and the week you want the ad to run.  The actual radio show date is in late March to be announced.  This is a Win/Win project both for the Lions as well as the ad takers.  For further information contact Chairperson  John Vincent at 508-746-2162.

March 6th  Middleboro Lions Club

 

MONTHLY BREAKFAST held at the Middleboro Housing Office on Benton Street in Middleboro from 7 AM to 11 PM.  Follow Rte 105 towards Middleboro center, take a right at the first set of lights, Wareham St., the second street is Benton Street Middleboro Housing is on the left side.  There will be signs designating the Lions Breakfast.  This is a real family time.

March   Greater Dartmouth Lions Club

 

The Greater Dartmouth Lions Club is collecting items for the TROOPS IN IRAQ.   The Lions are asking for personal items that will fit into a shoebox such as envelopes, writing paper, stamps, shaving cream, (non aerosol), toothpaste and brushes, sanitary products, etc.  If you would like to donate items please contact Lion Enid Silva at 508-992-9477.

March 12th.   Somerset Lions Club

 

The Somerset Lions Club will be hosting a NIGHT OF COMEDY on March 12th at

March 12th  Dighton and Dighton Dandi Lions Club

 

On Saturday March 12th the Clubs will be hosting a St Patricks Day CORNBEEF and CABBAGE DINNER at the VFW Hall on School Street in N Dighton.   Social begins at

6 PM with Dinner at 7 PM.  Cost is $9.00 per person.  There will also be a Raffle and Door Prize.  The VFW Hall is located on School Street off Route 138.  Take Railroad Avenue to Lincoln Avenue, School Street is the 1st Street on the right.

March 12th Rehoboth-Anawan Lions Club

 

BAKE SALE March 12th at Bristol Savings Bank, Route 44 from 8:00 am to noon time.  Just in time for Easter.

 

The Lion Ladies are selling chances now for MOMS NIGHT OUT.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  Large Basket of goodies and second prize is pasta night for 4 at Hillside. The Drawing will be held on the 1st.Thursday in May.  Watch the April Calendar of Events Newsletter for more information.

Spring Bowling Tournament

South Attleboro Lions Cllub

 

Registration forms are being sent out to past participating clubs.  The tournament will be held on Sunday March 13th at 1:00 pm at the Taunton 10 Pin Rte 44, Taunton MA. 

 

Cost is $20 per person / 4 members per team.  Reserve early as space is limited. 

 

RSVP by March 1st  and make checks payable to S Attleboro Lions and mail to PO Box 3254, S Attleboro, MA 02703.  All proceeds to benefit Dist 33S Charities.

 March 16th  Berkley Lions Club

 

The Berkley Lions Club Leprecons will be hosting their ANNUAL CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE DINNER at the American Legion Post 121 on Myricks Street. March 19th District 33S Eyemobile

 

The District 33S Eyemobile will be going to the Boston World Trade Center during a health care screening on March 19th.  We are looking for anyone who is willing to go and work in the eyemobile on that day.  It will take many people to operate this eyemobile as there will be probably a couple of hundred people passing through it.

The only information that I have so far is:

Admission        $10.00

Doors Open     10.00 AM

Volunteers Arrive at     9:00 AM

No Parking is Available

I suggest taking the T to South Station and then there is a

 FREE Shuttle to the World Trade Center

March 19th Greater Bridgewater Leos Club

 

On March 19th the Greater Bridgewater Leo Club is holding a LEO BOWLING FUNDRAISER.  All money raised (From Lions Family only) will proceed the individual for the costs of dues, and conventions. March 19th     S Attleboro Lions Club   

 

The LIONS ANNUAL COUNTRY BREAKFAST will be held on Saturday  March 19th  from 8 to 11 AM at the Bethony Village Fellowship, 516 Newport Ave., S Attleboro.  Bethany is located just 1 mile on the left from the Rt. 95/Rt. 123 junction towards S Attleboro.  Community pancake breakfast with all the fixings!  Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Rays Beans, Sausage, Hash Browns, French Toast, Pancakes, Corned Beef Hash, Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea.

March 20th.   Rockland Lions Club  

 

Welcome Rockland Lions to the Newsletter

 

BRUNCH WITH THE EASTER BUNNY will be held on Sunday March 20th at the Eagles Hall on Park Avenue.  It is an all you can eat brunch.  Pictures with the Easter Bunny and other fun activities will be going on all morning.  The brunch starts at 8 AM and runs until 12 PM

 

The SOUTH SHORE PHILIMONIC CONCERT is in the works, more information in the next Newsletter.

 

The club is also sponsoring the DECIDE program at Massasoit Community College.  Lion Charlie Kimball will be instructing seniors in making good choices in defensive education.  The program begins March 22.  For more information contact the Massasoit Community College Senior Center.
