Monthly Message from your District Governor

Hello to the Lions of District 33-S:

This weekend we had the best Mid-winter ever and it is all because of Lions like you.

I hope you all had a chance to visit with ID Richard Chaffin and Lion Debbie.  I felt that ID Richard gave a very inspirational talk on Saturday Night.  I realize that as a team we have the greatest District in Massachusetts.  My congratulations go out to the three Presidential award recipients.  Once again Joan and I wish to thank you for making this weekend an exciting fun filled time for all.

Please remember that we still have a chance to have fun at our State Convention.  Keeping the best for last do not forget about the International Convention the end of June, It promises to be a great time.  WE NEED VOLUNTEERS IF YOU CAN JOIN US IN BOSTON WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO WORK BESIDE YOU.

Not above you, not beneath you, but with you

District Governor

George Hart

District 33S OPERATION SHOE BOX AND BEYOND!!!!

Yes, we are still putting together shoe boxes for our wonderful troops.  You have the option of sending a box or two from your own club or donating items again at the Cabinet Advisory Meeting this month and we will put them together for you.  Our dream is to keep this operation going until the last one comes home.

Also, if you have addresses of someone over seas, please forward along and they will receive one of our many shoe boxes.

Remember, postage is a real cost for this project, donations for the boxes come easy.  If you would like to donate monies for postage to help send these shoe boxes off, please make your check payable to the Greater Dartmouth Lions Club and mail to President Enid Silva, 3 Bonneau Ct. Rd., N Dartmouth.

We are asking each club to consider donating one box of items requested for soldiers.  If your club decides to undertake this project, please send the items to:

VANITY LICENSE PLACES

Have you signed up yet ? ---- Why Not ?

We need 1500 plate applications before the Registry of Motor Vehicles will make your new LIONS plates.  The LIONS PLATE will help in getting public recognition, which we’ve lacked over the years past.  You can purchase a VANITY LIONS PLATE for only $40.00, but if you want a low number (1-1000) it will cost a tax deductible, $140.00, which includes a $100.00 donation to MLERFI.  I believe this $100 is a one time charge.

For more information and/or an application contact:

Lion Gary Saccocia, 680 Crescent St, E. Bridgewater, MA 02333  -  508-378-7173 or you can e mail Gary at Rgsacc@comcast.net
