Seven Wonders - a little inspiration for all

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present -Seven Wonders of the World.  Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

                1.  Egypt’s Great Pyramids                                5.  Empire State Building

                2.  Taj Mahal                                                        6.  St Peter’s Basilica

                3.  Grand Canyon                                 7.  China’s Great Wall

                4.  Panama Canal

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet.  So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.  The girl replied, “Yes, a little.  I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there were so many.”

The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”  the girl hesitated, then read, “I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:”

                1.  To See                                                              5.  To Feel

                2.  To Hear                                                            6.  To Laugh

                3.  To Touch                                                          7.  And To Love

                4.  To Taste

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.  The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous!

A gentle reminder – that the most precious thins in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.  Don’t be too busy today – pass along the inspiration!

Here are a few jokes, feel free to use them to get you started:

             Italian Bread

Two old guys one 80 and one 87 were sitting on their usual park bench one morning.  The 87 year old had just finished his morning jog and wasn’t even short of breath.  The 80 year old was amazed at his friends stamina and asked him what he did to have so much energy.

The 87 year old said “Well, I eat Italian bread every day.  It keeps your energy level high and you’ll have great stamina with the ladies.”

So, on the way home, the 80 year old stops at the bakery.  As he was looking around, the lady asked if he needed any help.  He said “Do you have any Italian bread?”  She said, “Yes, there’s a whole shelf of it.  Would you like some?”  He said, “I want 5 loaves.”

She said, “My goodness, 5 loaves…don’t you think by the time you get to the 5th loaf, it’ll be hard?”  He replied, “Holly crap…! Does everybody in the world know about this Italian bread thing but ME...!”

                Ferrari GTO

A hip young man goes out and buys the best car on the market, a brand new
Ferrari GTO.  It is also the most expensive car in the world, and it costs
him $500,000.  He takes it out for a spin and stops at a red light.  An old man on a Moped, looking about 100 years old, pulls up next to him.  The old man looks over at the sleek,

shinny car and asks, "What kind of car ya' got there sonny?"

The young man replies, "A Ferrari GTO. It cost half a million dollars!"  "That's a lot of money," says the old man.  "Why does it cost so much?"  "Because this car can do up to 320 miles an hour!" states the young dude proudly. The Moped driver asks, "Mind if I take a look inside?"
"No problem," replies the owner.  So the old man pokes his head in the window and looks around.  Then, sitting  back on his Moped, the old man says, "That's a pretty nice car, all
right...but I'll stick with my Moped!"

Just then the light changes, so the guy decides to show the old man just  what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 (?) seconds, the  speedometer reads 160 mph.  Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror.  It seems to be getting closer!  He slows down to see what it could
be and WHHHOOOOOOSSSSSHHH!!!!!!  Something whips by him going much faster!  "What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari?" the young man asks himself.

He floors the accelerator and takes the Ferrari up to 250 mph.  Then, up  ahead of him, he sees that it's the old man on the Moped!  Amazed that the  Moped could pass his Ferrari, he gives it more gas and passes the moped at 275 mph. WHOOOOOOOSHHHHH!

He's feeling pretty good until he looks in his mirror and sees the old man gaining on him AGAIN!  Astounded by the speed of his old guy, he floors the gas pedal and takes the Ferrari all the way up to 320 mph. Not ten seconds later, he sees the Moped bearing down on him again!  The Ferrari is flat out, and there's nothing he can do!

Suddenly, the Moped plows into the back of his Ferrari, demolishing the rear end.  The young man stops and jumps out and unbelievably the old man is alive, barely clinging to life. He runs over to the mangled old man and says, "Oh My goodness!  Is there anything I can do for you?"

The old man whispers, "Unhook...my...suspenders...from...your...side...view...mirror..."
"No problem," replies the owner.
