Monthly Message from your
District Governor
Greetings to all and soon, we'll be saying
seasons greetings. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and we all
have a lot to be thankful for.
Many Past Governors told me at the beginning of
this lions' year, that this would be the fastest year of my life and they were
all right. Christmas is fast approaching and soon after that will be our
mid-winter convention. It's hard to believe, but half of this lions' year
is just about over. May I take this opportunity to wish all of you a very
Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year filled with prosperity and good health.
As I look at our Lions emblem, I see the lion
facing backwards. Happy with our past
accomplishments during this year, but I also see the Lion facing forward,
realizing the hard work we have ahead of us to " help those less fortunate".
Please continue the hard work that we are noted for and keep District 33S the yardsticks
by which other districts are measured.
I would also like to take a special moment to
thank each and every one of you for all your hard work, not only for lionism,
but the way you have reached out to help your communities.
I would like to thank Ed Olney, our Region
Chairman at Large, for all his hard work and dedication. To list all the
names, I would probably forget to mention one or two, so I'd like to thank all
our Region and Zone Chairpersons for working so hard to make this a great
year. I would also like to thank all our committee chairpersons for a
great job in keeping things running so smoothly and making my job a lot easier.
PDG/CST Don and I have been greeted very warmly
and positively at our visitations and we'd like to thank you for that.
The word of working together seems to be getting out but I'd also like to
remind all of you that the District is here for you and your needs, so please,
tell us what we can do to help you and your clubs.
In closing, I would like to say once again that I
hope you and yours have a great holiday season and the new year brings us all
closer in the true spirit of lionism....
See you at the mid-winter.
Yours in Lionism

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!
In case
we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and
negativity, we should remember
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in
and how many want out."
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

SANTA RIDE
The Santa Ride is sponsored by the Dighton Lions. “Santa” rides around every street in town on the back of a fire truck and throws lollipops out to anyone waiting for him. They have been doing this for years and the young kids (and older folks as well) love it. Santa also stops at the nursing home and delivers gifts to all the residents there. It’s a great
PR event. Rain date December 17th
