Item 2   Bring a Donation for the Easton Lions Club Food Pantry.

12 years ago a local resident asked Ken Wood, current President of the Easton Lions Club, “Where can I get help with food in Easton?”  Since there was no assistance in town, the then part-time Town Recreation Director Ken started the Easton Food Pantry in his office.  With time, it has expanded from a single closet to 2 rooms in the basement of the Easton Town Offices.  Today, Ken’s wife Mary Jane Wood coordinates the help of many volunteers, including the Daughters of Isabella from the Immaculate Conception Parish, local schools, churches, businesses and residents.  Donations from the community and the spring US Post Office food drive result in about 6,000 pounds of food collected each year, allowing the pantry to service anywhere from 10 to 40 families a week depending on the time of year.  The Easton Lions Club has been very active in the Easton Food Pantry since it started and this year our Board of Directors approved recognition of the Easton Food Pantry as an official Easton Lions Club Community program.  “Way To GO”
